Derek Lam's Ebay Collection?!

We all know and love and maybe even are a tiny bit obsessed with eBay, but for the first time in the history of the online auctioning site, designer Derek Lam has collaborated with them to design an exclusive capsule collection! The collection will first be unveiled at New York Fashion Week in February 2011, and then eBay members will be able to vote online for the pieces they would like to see go into production. What a fantastic idea! 

"Having a direct and immediate dialogue with the online audience is what makes fashion exciting and relevant in this moment," Lam tells WWD. "EBay's technology offers me a unique and innovative opportunity to reach new and existing customers directly, and to create fashion they desire." 

As indicated by eBay, prices will be "accessible" and the full collection will be available from Spring 2011. We can't wait to get voting and from what we're seeing in his Spring 2011 runway, we're loving every single piece already - the choosing is gonna be hard!
